Dueling Mandates in Yellowstone

In Yellowstone there is a DNA fingerprinting process. They have long-standing laws and regulations instruct parks to allow scientific research as long as it does no harm to park resources or values. In 1999 a legal challenge put a hold on implementing this agreement until an environmental assessment is completed. Increasingly, private companies come to geyser basins in the park to collect samples of the unusual microbial life that thrives in extreme hydro thermal areas.

One of the dilemmas that I like for a solution is.

Allow researchers to collect bacteria from the park but require any company that benefits from the research to share the profits with the National Park Service for the preservation of wildlands.

The pros and cons of that are.

Pros

The park gets money.

The vistors get to to see more of the park.

The park rangers get paid more.

Cons

The cons of that they don’t get all the money.

They don’t get to see all of the park.

More money gets taken away.

The reason why I picked this one is because it made the most sense to me. It also sounded best to me.
